Michael W. Pope currently serves as the Executive Director for Commander, Joint Region Marianas. He is the principle assistant to the Commander on region policy, overall business and corporate management, installation and base operating support management, and mid- and long-range (strategic) planning. He provides management oversight, guidance, and direction to CJRM Directors (J-Codes) and Special Assistants; oversees funding levels and resourcing; provides unified processes, procedures, and practices for the efficient management of installation support; and coordinates business and management issues that cross multiple programs, regions, and agencies.
Prior to this position, Pope served as the Inspector General for Commander, Navy Installations Command Office of the Inspector General from 2021 to 2025. Previous assignments include Deputy Inspector General for CNIC OIG (2017-2021), Region Inspector General for CJRM OIG (2014-2017), Investigations Program Manager for Commander, Navy Reserve Force OIG (2009-2015), and Investigator for CNRF OIG (2008-2009).
Pope is a native of San Carlos, California, and graduated in 1998 from San José State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English. He graduated from California State University Dominguez Hills in 2009 with a Master of Arts in Humanities.
