Big Screen Theater Re-opens

NAVAL BASE GUAM (Dec. 15, 2023) - U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG) Commanding Officer Capt. Michael Luckett cut the ceremonial ribbon to kick off the re-opening of the Big Screen Theater onboard NBG, Dec. 15.

The ribbon cutting opens the newly renovated theaters with new carpeting, reupholstered seating, restored wood paneling, repairs to the facility's envelope, and a full HVAC restoration.
The theater underwent a $1.3 million repair following significant damage from Typhoon Mawar, which swept through the island on May 23.

Prior to Typhoon Mawar the theater was closed due to issues with the projection system, that were eventually resolved. However, the combination of water damage and the island
wide loss of power for an extended period of time, caused even greater damage and further delayed the theater's reopening.

Tonight, doors open at 5 p.m. with the first showing of The Marvels beginning at 6 p.m.

Kids - $3
