NAVAL BASE GUAM (Aug. 16, 2022) – For the second year in a row, Torpedoes and Tomahawks (TNT) on U.S. Naval Base Guam was recently awarded Stars and Stripes Best in the Pacific on base restaurant/club.
“The Food and Beverage team works really hard to take care of the customers at Naval Base Guam,” said Donna Spaddy, Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Guam fleet readiness director. “It takes leadership, guidance, and support.”
Stars and Stripes polls members of military communities throughout the Pacific Theater on the best local facilities, services and destinations on and off base. The result of this annual poll is a local guide for, and by, these military communities.
Each Best of the Pacific edition provides insight on categories such as ‘best officers club’ ‘best off-base restaurant’ and ‘best travel destination.’ Best of the Pacific is distributed annually to Stars and Stripes daily edition subscribers and U.S. military bases throughout the Pacific Theater.
Mercie Estrada, MWR Guam Food & Beverage club manager, said that the restaurant has been recognized as Best of the Pacific since they reopened a couple years ago and will strive to continue providing award-winning service.
“It is an honor to work with such a great team, each and every one of them works very hard to give the best service to our NBG community,” Estrada said. “They are all the back bone of our operation. I truly appreciate Team MWR F&B!”
TNT is a casual dining restaurant that serves hearty American food, local specials, and drinks. It is also used for private functions, concerts, and other events throughout the year.
“Together everyone achieves more and together as a team they were able to accomplish this for the second year in the row,” Spaddy said. “Awesome job to the entire team and their managers Chef Jessica Kuper and Ms. Mercie Estrada.”
