NAVAL BASE GUAM (Oct. 25. 2023) - U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG) Commanding Officer Capt. Michael Luckett cut the official ribbon to kick off the grand opening of the Navy Exchange (NEX) Micro Mart at Camp Covington Oct. 25.

Also present at the ceremony were NEX Service Command District Vice President, Matthew Barnwell and NEX Guam General Manager, Lisa Ballejo. Ballejo thanked the NEX Guam facilities and vending teams for their hard work in preparing the store for opening.

The Micro Mart is the first within NBG proper. Since its soft opening on Oct. 19, the store has already seen approximately 1,500 customers.
"I know there are a lot of folks who are working the evenings or weekends and the ability for them to get some food and drinks and convenience items any time of day is a really big deal," Luckett said. "I know our security team have been looking for this capability for a long period of time so it's going to be a big win for the base and I look forward to seeing more of these coming."

The store operates 24-hours a day, seven days a week using a self-checkout system. Patrons can purchase a variety of items including fruit, sandwiches, health bars, snacks, heat and serve meals, as well as hot coffee and cold beverages. Hygiene and toiletry items are also in stock at the store.
The Camp Covington Micro Mart is located across from Commander, Task Force 75 Headquarters along Battalion Circle, located in the same building as the Camp Covington Services Center.
