Biosecurity and Interdiction

NRS not only work to remove invasive species from military lands, but also to ensure pests like the Brown Tree Snake (BTS), Little Fire Ant (LFA), and Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle (CRB) do not invade the travel network and find their way to other islands and lands across Asia, the Continental USA, and the Pacific.

Natural Resource Specialists

NAVFAC MAR NRS work within the Joint Region Marianas (JRM) Area of Responsibility (AOR). This includes all installations on Guam; Naval Base Guam (NBG), Marine Corps Base Camp
Blaz (MCBCB), and Andersen Air Force Base (AAFB). Additionally, some NRS manage conservation projects in the CNMI on the Tinian Military Leased Area (MLA) as well as Farallon De Medinilla (FDM). Conservation projects vary, from Marine to Terrestrial; from Forest Restoration to Protected Species Management!
