NBG SAFETY
The U.S. Naval Base Guam Safety Office manages the Navy's Occupational Safety and Health (NAVOSH), Traffic Safety, Recreational and Off-Duty Safety, and the Explosives Safety Programs. Services provided include mishap prevention marketing and education, annual inspections, identification of workplace hazards, and employee reports of hazards, and mishap investigation and reporting. The office also provides educational and on-site consultations for sight & hearing conservation, personal protective equipment, confined space entry, respiratory protection, and indoor air quality for all military personnel, their dependents, and civilian employees. The Installation Safety Council is chaired by the Installation Commander and meets quarterly to pass information and discuss safety concerns of Naval Base Guam personnel.
The Safety Office is also publishes a quarterly calendar of occupational and traffic safety training, including Motorcycle Safety courses required for active duty personnel, and the AAA Driver Improvement Program for traffic offenders. The calendar and course registration are available through the Enterprise Safety Applications Management System (ESAMS).
